Melanie Wanders

Melanie received her Culinary Arts and Management Degrees from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. She interned at Alice Water’s famed Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California before taking over ganache production at L.A. Burdick Chocolates in Walpole, New Hampshire. While there, Melanie apprenticed under Master Pastry Chef Markus Faerbinger. After working for two years at Stadt-Café Conditorei Wanders in Kleve, Germany where she gathered experience producing European pastries and chocolates, Melanie returned to the United States to become a Chef Instructor and Culinary Program Manager at Chez Bay Gourmet Cooking School in Durham, North Carolina.
Continuing the century-long family tradition of producing fine artisan products, Wilhelm and Melanie are proud to introduce Chocolaterie Wanders — a way to savor the Old World through deliciously exquisite hand-made confections.
